X Communications has launched of a range of digital media interactive applications for the 'Telling Images of China' exhibition at Dublin's Chester Beatty Library.

Telling Images of China interactivesThe 'Telling Images of China' exhibition was opened at the Chester Beatty Library by President Mary McAleese on Thursday 11 February. 'Telling Images of China' is an exhibition of early modern and modern paintings from one of the world's finest collections of Chinese art - the Shanghai Museum.

X Communications has developed a touch-screen and online interactive application which allows visitors to read about the individual stories behind each of the works. Each painting can be viewed in detail using the 'Zoom Image' feature which allows users to pan around a high resolution scan of the image.

An iPod Touch web application has been built to compliment the touch-screen interactive application. Visitors to the exhibition can carry one of the iPods around the exhibition and listen to the fascinating background story behind each of the works in the exhibition.

The exhibition runs until the 2 May 2010. Click here to see a list of opening hours and information on visiting the gallery.
